Nitara 1920×1080 Wallpaper
With the upcoming Mortal Kombat
X, I’m back into redesigns at a faster pace. If Nitara were to appear in Mortal Kombat
X I picture her as retaining some for her previous “Goth Grrl” appeal but pushing it further. I drew upon influences from Cyber-Goth
culture for parts of my redesign. I kept most of her original colour scheme, but added some green to the red and black she wore in the beginning.
Nitara was a favorite of mine in her earlier appearances, her high-low-high combos were always good to catch an opponent off guard!
Ashrah from Mortal Kombat.
Will she appear in Mortal Kombat X ?
I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
This Image appears to be incomplete, but this is actually what most of my work looks like when I first finish. This image of Ashrah has not even had Black/white balancing it is so freshly scanned here. Her costume is an adaptation of her original outfit, adjusted to fit the reference image I used; Cardinal4 by faestock on DeviantArt. Her left hand also looks unfinished due to the space I left for her weapon. I crafted her traditional Kris Sword in Carrara and plan on digitally inserting it when I do the colour work on this image.
Deadly Alliance 2 featuring Shinnok and Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat
When Mortal Kombat 5 Deadly Alliance came out, we were faced with two villains, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, combining forces to defeat all who opposed them. So I figured (at the time) a logical sequel would be for the masters of those two, Shao Khan and Shinnok, to team up for a Deadlier Alliance. Unlike much of my other Mortal Kombat fan art, I did not stray too far from the source designs for this drawing. I kept the same overall look for both characters and when I produce a colour version in intend to retain colour schemes similar to the original designs as well.
3D Sindel from Mortal Kombat
. Created in Poser 4
using Victoria model
and custom textures. I created these images as an experiment when Mortal Kombat
5 was released. In the far right image, Sindel is in the fighting style I choose for her, a form of Kung-Fu that as best I can tell is called Spider Stance. I chose that style because her hair in older games is somewhat web-like. I also designed her costume to be “spidery” as well without being too obvious about it. I modeled the arena myself in Lightwave, even with my relative lack of 3d experience at the time such a simple form was easy to construct and texture. My skills were not up to giving her proper “Sindel” style hair and my library of hair models had nothing close either so I used the best I had which I believe is a model by Kozaburo with custom textures.
So quite a ways back Ed Boon, creator of Mortal Kombat, put up a pic of a “secret character” called Zebron. He was pretty much an antropomorphic Zebra wearing a Tuxedo….I’m preeeety sure Mr. B was trying to troll the hardcore fanboys and from reactions I recall, it worked.
Anyways, in keeping with my trend of mostly re-designing unliked, unknown and forgotten Mortal Kombat characters I tackled the task of making Zebron a serious character in line with established Mortal Kombat mythology. My line of thinking on this one was pretty simple. Kintaro is basically a bigger meaner striped version of Goro. In Mortal Kombat 3 we are introduced to the Centaurian race who were represented by Motaro. Next step up would be a stripey version and looky here, Ed Boon already created a character, joke or not, who with a few minor modifications becomes the Centaurian Prince Zebron.
Zebrons design elements are mostly derived from African cultures that exist inside the Zebras habitat. I also worked in some minor Asian influences (mostly Japanese). You may notice there are some oddly undetailed areas in this drawing. I pencil, ink and colour my own work and those “blank” areas are places where I will be working in the details digitally.
If you like this (or anything else in my Mortal Kombat fanart series) tweet it to @noobde maybe it’ll end up in the Krypt like Boon’s original drawing.
Colour version coming…..at some point.
